Late Summer Product Design Musings: a Dragons Den auto-#Fail.

Project: MONKEY off my back.

Objective: Um, charge "road monkeys" to reduce my taxes and fix roads.

Seems I have always had this blog in me? I hate monkey drivers. Some monkeys are manageable, some not. The highways are clogged with too much testosterone? Or is it non-gender specific attitude? Who cares, these people cause accidents and worse, hurt others.

In science, one could say the monkey with the most momentum is the worst kind. Dynamics is funny, its non-linear. Ignoring the complexity of kinematics and dynamics on the highway can lead to vehicular manslaughter. In english: we need smarter drivers and smarter highways and make them safer.

Why? Because these monkeys cause accidents. Sure there is MADD, but, what about MONKEY: Managing Outrageous Numbskull Kineticist Eh? Ya! ( MONKE?Y! ?). Lets face it, some of these cars are too much speed ( say E500 AMG ) or too much momentum ( Ford Excursion : Fat Guy Edition ).

Can we start MONKEY? Yes. We can. We have the tools!

See inside our cars is a thingy called a computer. Of course it already is a black box of sorts. Insurance companies like them: they can deconstruct dynamics data and simulate the crash. GM cars can be shut down by satelite. I like that. So, lets record each cars position and velocity and presto! Boom! Done! MONKEY time!

If you feel you see a MONKEY, communicate it. If they test MONKEY “POSITIVE”, you get 10% of the fine, if you are wrong, you get a spanking. Of course I want a hard speed limit of 115 km/hr. Just make it Pan-Canada. Like photo radar, but with a new satellite built by MDA!

So, MONKEY, in the Oversized Black FORD F-350 Powerstroke 8” off my bumper, take that! Driving 160 km/h? Blammo, no license for you!

Neat idea huh? Well, how about this: now leverage the computer and companies can monitor all its corporate vehicles. Governments and even the city of Toronto!

Seems that some city drivers are driving like they stole it. Leverage again and you can manage fleet performance to save gas. Leverage it more and charge over-consumption drivers a carbon tax ( call it the Jack Rabbit Tax: have it fund Healthcare to piss them off ).

End result: reduce my car insurance and taxes, thanks, and make the MONKEY pay.

Seriously, I hate those MONKEYS!

Ousting Harper: Planned Parliamenthood

The voting system in Canada does not seem to represent “the peoples vote”. There has been lots of talk about reforming this system to better reflect the sentiment of the Canadian voter. The reality is our political landscape is a well trodden chessboard that parties can manipulate to gain power. Stand tall on a few key squares and poof, the other squares do not matter. Is this fair? Who cares!

Last election, the Green Party got 10% of the vote, but, did not win one seat. This is the reality of our system and I feel that it discourages youth voters and also forces people to vote strategically – ABC ( anything but conservative ) but, to be fair, I currently support ABH, anything but Harper. I know many well rounded conservatives and most are not happy with King Stevie. Teamwork can help us all extract this anomaly in Canadian Democracy ( more like US bipartisan right wing GOP ).

There are many systems of voting models, but reality is we have the same tired system for this election on May 2, 2011. In my limited voting knowledge experience, I have seen these: Proportional Representation and Ranked Ballot. Will Canada switch its system? Who cares, for now.

What I care about is May 2nd. That is when we need to vote "ABH". CPC "lemmings" did the fear mongering dance with their coalition talking point, but forgot about the word “cheating” with vote swapping. Conservatives don't talk about this, for good reason.

Vote swapping has been around for a while. Nothing new, but what is new is Twitter. What is also new is the need for Canadians to eliminate the CPC "hidden agenda" methods and its corrupt and ethically-challenged methods in parliament. I do not trust Harper. Do you? This I care about!

I care that Harper is eroding the humanitarian leadership and peacekeeping image of Canada. Cutting efforts and progress in the environment and human rights. Operating with disregard of democratic transparency and contempt of parliament. No thanks! Time to change the bathwater in Ottawa.

So, with twitter, Canada can “cheat” the system: I call it “Planned Parliamenthood” : Vote Swapping.

Bigger cities have the luxury of having both strong Liberal and New Democrat, in some ridings, with very weak Conservative representation. I laughingly refer to it as “intelligence and cultural diversity”. So, in these ridings, we have surplus “Anti-Harper” potential, just waiting to be lovingly spread around Canada like our spring time fertilizer. Lets grow our democracy again!

My plan is to get Elizabeth May a seat using this idea. Not by voting for the Green Party, no. By swapping my vote with someone that wants Liberal or New Democratic. They vote green for me, I vote Liberal or NDP for them. Swappo! Mission Accomplished.

In the 2008 election, 6000 people registered for vote sharing or vote swapping. This is significant since “they” say 20,000 votes can swing a party into power.

Vote sharing requires some homework. So, if you think you can better oust Harper, or oust Harper and elect Elizabeth May ( some are doing this in protest, and my higher-order democracy option ), read through the sites and do your own homework.

Oh ya, remember Elections Canada recognizes swap voting, thus, use it with pride!

On May 2nd, lets oust Harper!

Creative Reality Writing 101 : Metaman

This day February 1, 2011 I do declare Freedom of Earth and Science, by the simple chaotic order of our universe. Homosapiens will now comply to these new laws : The Universal Laws of Science.

Science has been used, negatively, to destroy and hurt other humans and everything on our planet. Why are we buying cleaner light bulbs when the global military carbon footprint has already squashed our chances of a clean and healthy future ecosystem.

Science has been used both physically and psychologically for negative purpose. This is no longer actionable. Violence is disease. Healthy stability brings peace.

Using scientific knowledge, against the presumed consent, of millions of beautiful and creative human minds that helped shape it and create it is no longer actionable.

The intellectual property of millions of scientists has been presumed inadmissible in ownership of patent. This is no longer defensible.

The presumption of “collective negative scientific intent” is unfounded & baseless thus illegal. This is no longer tolerated.

Many scientists aspired to advance scientific knowledge and understanding with the intent that their work could help communities, humanity, animals or our ecosystem and peace.

Positive change using positive science works better. Evolution of science & humanity will not be held by the weak negative grasp of histories mistakes.

Future positive science cannot witness past negative science, just improves future progress.

Humanity is evolving now. Communications are accelerating. Freedom and peace is the goal.

Our evolution will only result though positive progress, or humanity repeats “it” again, this time with the most scientifically efficient killing tools ever created to intimidate and incite fear.

Moving forward without peace is impossible. Those that fixate on “the story of sad” need positive change.

Everyone deserves the results of positive science. Knowledge should be shared for free for freedom.

With the flux of change since November 2, 2010, I see that the only “people on the run” will be the people the world can see in real time and find distasteful. The new market of Greedarazzi is born? Yes.

Open information is suppressed by governments, for good reason. But, can humanity evolve towards one positive goal? Yes. We are and have already started. Peace is changing.

Governments cannot provide peace, people do and people will.

Freedom is simple. Evolution is not. Our globe will destabilize as the negative power structures fall, balanced on years of lies and sometimes hate: negatives.

Toppled by the people: toppled by global love: toppled by the common person and child.

Our first success will be the global elimination of war-based and fear-based sciences.

Next, legal rights will be given to all living entities on Earth.

Then we can all move towards a positive future, together.

A future where negative cannot find shelter from positive: the reality of quantum with the security of Metaman.

"Tweet O Tweet" = "S O S" ? : Toronto Police twitter communications.

Twitter is a fun tool and I do say tool. It is a free access global network to crazy cloud computing! Harold Coxeter, the Toronto math wizard in geometry, led to our current innovations in complex information analysis. Thanks Harold!

In the “times of information”, seems like Twitter is amazing at sending messages and getting fast responses and multiple responses. I have touched upon these items in previous blogs: finding new information or getting questions answered or just sending a message to a twitter contact. Turning on twitter location and tweeting can provide your location and name. This is an inherent feature and something that takes time to communicate, traditionally.

Using ones' 140 characters seems a challenge. It is. How much information can I fit in to this tiny “real-time space”? When we think of the evolution of communications, we see that the simple SOS message was enough to send a message: help. Now we have Twitter: can a message expand an organizations accessibility? Can a Twitter message ever be an official communication?

Now we have this simple tool. Wait, it is complex, depending on how the tweet is built.

I like to blog about new cool connections, I make on Twitter, and here is my next.

I was looking at the #volunteer hashtag on twitter ( tweets close to me ) and noticed a tweet from the Toronto Police. They were saying thanks to volunteers that helped at a local function. I think they even set a record! I retweeted!

Toronto Police said thanks! That is proper Twitter protocol, well done #TPT ( Toronto Police Twitter ).

I looked at their tweets and they have some really informative messages. Some even in my neighbourhood. Cool. Later, I noticed the TPT using identifiers “^xx” in their tweets. I suggested they use a hashtag, so, that above identifier code would become #xx or #XX.

The capitalization means confirmed versus lowercase which is unconfirmed. Known to be factual versus an opinion.

By building a simple set of hashtags, the complexity of the message increases. Looking at the range of TPT tweets, I thought of what messages they may need to send to a community: an accident, weather emergency, tornado touchdown location. I also though of the community and which messages they could send to the police. Now the police have increased their scope using real time!

Look out! #ca ( citizens arrest ) took on a new team member? Twitter? What about a distress call from twitter? Could this free stuff have real value? Yes, I think a simple system could be launched and measured. Demonstrate a few simple ideas and track the results?

One thing is for certain, Twitter should would be great in some situations. Live information.

Anyways, back to the TPT codes, what about “Jane Public” sending a quick tweet to the Toronto Police Twitter? An easy example: tornado it is.

If the GTA has a local tornado warning, residents could use this to alert an actual touchdown. Calling 911 might take longer than sending this message ( excuse the hashtags, I kept these ideas simple )

You can imagine the rest. But, do take notice in the differences in capitalization.

Public abuse of this system would not be tolerated. Think of it like a community watch for twitter.

The Toronto Police can send “their content” tweets ( say on @TorontoPolice account ), but also issue @TPT “content” ( say on @TPT account ). Public broadcasts to GTA could use both Twitter accounts. The "@TPT" is for the public alert system.

Thinking about how the police communicate and what they can communicate public messages could even contain encrypted key words. A plain clothes officer could be gathering evidence and making it look like they are tweeting a friend. Just no G-20 stuff, thanks.

I think that with a smart strategy, any police force can better serve with this free tool! Cool!
